Marilyn Ann Croneberger, 77, of Bern Township, died December 26, 2013 in Berks Heim.

She was the wife of the Rt. Rev. John P. Croneberger. She was predeceased by her first husband, Clarence Carey.

Born in Jermyn, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Edmonds) Muehleisen.

Marilyn was a 1954 graduate of Jermyn High School.

She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Reading, and was actively involved in the ministry of the Episcopal Church. She was also a longtime leader of the Cursillo program in the Diocese of Bethlehem and the Diocese of Newark, NJ. While there, She and her husband were founders of the local chapter of Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG).

Marilyn loved life and was always a gracious and fun-loving hostess. She loved to dance, go antiquing, read, cook and made everything around her beautiful.

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her five children: Amber C., wife of Steven Brisk, Closter, NJ; Judy A., wife of Richard Innis, Bern Township; Rebecca C., wife of Stephen Smith, Princeton, NJ; Timothy J. Croneberger, partner of Glenn Finn, NYC; and Jennifer L. Croneberger, Exton. Also surviving are her siblings: Dorothy Nafus, Carbondale; Jackie, wife of Paul Battle, Landisville; and Richard Muehleisen, Jermyn and many nieces and nephews. Nine grandchildren: Tyler, husband of Bridget, Ryan, Sam, Jack, Luke, Palmer, Carey, Tommy, and Teo also survive her.

Marilyn was predeceased by her two brothers: Eric Muehleisen and Carl Muehleisen.

Her family is truly grateful for the love and care she received from her special girls at Berks Heim

A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, January 4, 2013 at 12 p.m. in Christ Episcopal Church, 435 Court St., Reading, PA 19601. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Neurological Institute of NY. Checks can be made out to Columbia University Taub Institute in memory of Marilyn Croneberger and mailed to: Office of Development 100 Haven Ave., NY, NY, 10032.
