Marie T. Ricci

Marie T. Ricci, 85, passed away June 28, 2013 in her Wyomissing residence.

Her husband of 64 years was Francis R. Ricci.

Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of Rocco and Lucia (Samponio) Petrangelo.

Marie was a 1946 graduate of Overbrook High School, Philadelphia.

She was a member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, West Reading.

Marie was a gifted multi-talented artist. She was a sculptor in various media. She was also a designer and fabricator of jewelry specializing in base and precious metals. Her forays into weaving produced unparalleled woolen abstractions. Marie loved learning about producing art and art techniques, continuing her education at The Yocum Institute for Arts Education in Wyomissing and Kutztown University.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughter, Judith A. Ricci and son-in-law Peter J. Ashley, Catonsville, MD.

Marie was predeceased by eight siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 8, 2013 in Sacred Heart R.C. Church, West Reading. A viewing will be held Sunday, July 7th from 2 to 4 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association P.O.
