Marie R. Becker

Marie Rebecca (Scholl) Becker, 95, of Temple, died June 14, 2007 at 2:55 am in St. Joseph's Medical Center, Bern Township, where she had been a patient since June 4th.

She was the widow of Charles A. Becker, who died July 1, 1974.

Born October 21, 1911 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Isadore H. and Bessie M. (Moyer) Scholl.

She was a member of Olivet United Church of Christ, Riverside.

Marie was employed 18 years as an etcher with A.T.&T., Reading Works, where she was a member of I.B.E.W. Union Local #1898, before retiring in 1975.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Reading Chapter #251 and a member of Northmont Fellowship Club.

Marie is survived by a son, Brooke M. husband of Katherine F. (Kreisher) Manbeck of Reading and two step-children; Shirley Mae wife of Darwin Brendlinger of Langhorn and Ronald husband of Vanessa (Abel) Becker of Wayneville, N.C.

Other survivors include two brothers, Richard T. Scholl of N.E. Baltimore, Michigan and Isadore E. Scholl of Exeter Township.

She is also survived by a close family friend, Charles Hamilton of Exeter; two grandchildren, Kim L. wife of James L. Williams of Fredericksburg, Virginia and Kevin C. husband of Cynthia S. Manbeck of

There are also five step-grandchildren; two great grandchildren and twelve step great grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday at 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, with the Rev. William H. Albright officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
