Marie Louise Maurer

Marie Louise (Stover) Maurer, 85, of Wyomissing, passed away August 18, 2014 in the Lutheran Home at Topton.

Her husband, John "Jack" Maurer, died January 25, 2009.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Gertrude (Everline) Stover.

She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School.

Marie was active in several civic and social organizations.

She was a member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, West Reading, where she served as Eucharistic Minister and Lector as well as a volunteer for the church and school.

Marie is survived by her daughter, Karen L. Maurer, Wyomissing. Also surviving are her brother, Robert, husband of Mary Lou Stover, Reading; her sisters: Madeline Loeper, Reading; Joan, wife of Jack Peiffer, Galena, OH; and Catherine Simon, Sun Lake, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart R.C. Church, West Reading. Words of Remembrance will begin Monday at 9 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A viewing will be held Sunday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
