Marie Helen (Amrhein) Hampele, 84, of Spring Township, died December 14, 2008 in the Mifflin Center, Cumru Township.
She was the widow of George Washington Hampele, who died April 24, 2006.
Born in Reading, PA on May 16, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Francis Amrhein and Helen T. (Kryzanowski) Amrhein Marabella.
She was employed as a packer for six years with Luden's Candy, Reading and later for another three years with Sturgis Pretzel's, Shillington, retiring in 1986.
Marie is survived by three daughters: Michelle M. (Turczyn) Brumbach of Spring Township, Barbara L. (Turczyn) Tobin of Venetia, Washington County and Diane E. (Turczyn) Strickler of Lower Heidelberg Township.
Other survivors include two step-daughters: Rachel A. Hampele of Reading and RueAnn A. (Hampele) Roach of Houston, TX.
There are also seven grandchildren, one great granddaughter, four step grandchildren and 12 step great grandchildren.
Marie was anxiously awaiting the arrival of a great grandson who is due in April.
Prayer Services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 pm in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township. For online condolences, visit www.kuhnfuneralhome.com
