Marie Esther (Tillman) DeWald, 70, of Reading, died Saturday, December 30, 2006 at 4:42 pm in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where she had been a patient since December 15th.

Born March 31, 1936 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Herman Tillman and Florence M. (Seidel) Czarnecki.

She was a graduate of Reading High School.

Marie was employed a number of years as an inspector with Grafika Printing, Sinking Spring.

She is survived by a son, John R. husband of Cindy A. (Corry) DeWald of Shillington and three daughters, Elizabeth A. wife of Curtis A. Ebling of Fort Worth, Texas, Anna M. wife of Richard H. Zondlo of Mohrsville and Catherine I. wife of Gerald A. Schmehl of Exeter Township.

Other survivors include two brothers, Charles Tillman of Shillington and Thomas Tillman of Reading and three sister, Catherine Czarnecki, Dorothy Wertz and Laura Stengel all of Reading.

There are also nine grandchildren, Curtis Jr., Jennifer, Deanna, Richard, Meghan, Jeffrey, Charisma, Brandon and Abby; and four great grandchildren, Harrison, Claudia, Hayley and Ryan.

She was predeceased by a great grandson, Cody James Zondlo; one sister, Anna Gogluizza and five brothers, Walter Czarnecki, Raymond Czarnecki, Joseph Czarnecki, John Czarnecki and Paul Czarnecki.

Services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 pm in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Rd., Laureldale with the Rev. Lynda Elmer officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township. www.christfuneralhome.com
