Marie A. Rowley

Marie Agnes (Gleeson) Rowley, 77, of Berks Heim, Bern Township and formerly of Temple, died March 22, 2009 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

She was married May 6, 1950 in the Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church to the late Joseph Patrick Rowley, Sr., who died January 17, 1970.

Born August 15, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late E. Russell and Florence M. (Hanna) Gleeson.

She was a 1949 graduate of St. Hubert's Catholic High School, Philadelphia.

Marie was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park.

She was employed a number of years as an accountant with Zeswitz Music Store, Exeter Township and later as a secretary with Bob Fisher Chevrolet, Muhlenberg Township.

Marie last worked at Boscov's since 1979, retiring as a sales manager in 1996.

She is survived by three children, Kathleen M. (Rowley), wife of Michael W. Knoll of Exeter Township; Michael J., husband of Susan L. (Smith) Rowley of Muhlenberg Township and Timothy J., husband of Barbara A. (Armes) Rowley of Cumru Township.

Other survivors include seven grandchildren: Michael Rowley II, Christopher Rowley, Jennifer Knoll, Peter Rowley, Erin Rowley, Jack Rowley and Michael Knoll; One great granddaughter, Abigail Rowley and 15 nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Rev. Mr. Joseph Patrick Rowley, Jr., who died November 2, 1989 and three brothers: Russell, James and John.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11:00 am in Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, 3121 Kutztown Road., Hyde Park, Reading, PA 19605. A visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass. Entombment will be private in Gethsemane Mausoleum, Muhlenberg Township.
