Marie Angstadt Maser Wilhelm—loving, caring daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother—died Sunday, Nov. 25 at the age of 90 at Genesis Healthcare, Exeter Township, where she was a resident since January.
Marie is survived by her third husband, Russell E. Wilhelm, Bernville. Her first husband, Frank J. Maser died in 1990; her second husband, Russell E. Hoffman, died in 2000. Her first two husbands were U.S. Navy veterans; Wilhelm is a U.S. Army veteran. She was born Nov. 10, 1922 in St. Lawrence, a daughter of Howard and Ella (Satter) Angstadt. She also lived in Stony Creek Mills; Millsboro, Delaware; and Reading.
Marie was a devoted and compassionate Christian and a member of St. James Church, West Reading. She was a 1940 graduate of Mt. Penn High School, worked for the former Berkshire Knitting Mills and retired after 20 years of service with the former Western Electric plant and Bell Labs in Reading.
She is also survived by her children—Pamela, wife of F. Alan Shirk, Wyomissing; Frank J. Maser Jr., Hertford, North Carolina; and Louise, wife of Gary Rubright, Bernville; six grandchildren, Michael and Ethan Shirk; Frank Gilfert and Jenifer Gilfert Geisinger; and Stephanie Maser Dietrich and Tim Maser; nine great-grandchildren; her sisters, Bertha (Bertie), Denver, Colorado, widow of Richard Seiz; and Dorothy, Exeter Township, widow of Warren J. Roberts; and her best friend, Millie Sites, Mt. Penn.
