Marianne K. Mcquillen

Marianne K. McQuillen, 63, died of natural causes Sept. 30 at 7 a.m. in her Spring Township residence.

She was the wife of John E. McQuillen.

Born in Plainfield, N.J., she was a daughter of the late James B. Kauffman and Mary V. (Witmer) Kauffman Goldin.

McQuillen had been employed for four years as coordinator of parish ministries for Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading, retiring in December 2004.

She was a member of Sacred Heart.

McQuillen was a 1959 graduate of Manheim Township High School and a 1963 graduate of Millersville University, both Lancaster County.

She was past president and former executive director of Rainbow Home.

McQuillen served on the board of the Covenant Home and was past president of Lifeline, West Reading.

She was also former vice president of administration at Community General Hospital and past vice president of Wyomissing New Home Savings and Loan.

McQuillen is also survived by two sons, Joseph, Sinking Spring, and Christopher, Pottsville.

Other survivors include a brother, James B. Kauffman Jr., Chicago, and a sister, Pamela K. (Kauffman) Peelor, Bradenton, Fla.

There are also three grandsons.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. Private burial will be in Brownstown Cemetery, Lancaster County.Contributions may be made to Lifeline, 246 N.9th St., Reading, PA 19601. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
