Marianne K. (Korba) Durofchalk, 86, passed away unexpectedly on June 13, 2026 in the comfort of her home. She was the beloved wife of Richard J. Durofchalk. They shared 64 years of marriage.
Born in Binghamton, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Julia (Novak) Korba. Marianne graduated from Alfred University in New York, and was an RN in NY and PA, including as an instructor. She found joy in the beauty of the outdoors, and enjoyed golf, tennis, kayaking, camping, boating, snow skiing, and water skiing. She loved traveling, having visited every continent except Antarctica. She especially enjoyed time at the beach. At home, her creative talents shined through in her stained-glass artwork with friends, which led to co-founding Mistletoe Magic holiday craft show for many years. She also enjoyed knitting and countless other arts and crafts. Marianne was a devoted member of St. Ignatius Loyola Church and served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion.
In addition to Richard, Marianne’s memory will be cherished by her children: David (Mickey), Tom (Laura), John (Jill), and Rick (Tammy); as well as her grandchildren: Amanda, Jessica (Kyle), Jennifer, Nicholas, Stephen, Michael, Patrick, Macey, Bailey, and Ainsley; and great-granddaughter, Sienna.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 22, 2026 at 11 a.m. at St. Ignatius Loyola Church, 2600 St Albans Dr, Reading, PA 19609. Family and friends are invited to gather from 9:30 a.m. until the beginning of Mass. Marianne will be laid to rest privately in Gethsemane Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be to St. Ignatius Loyola Church at the address above.
Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home is honored to serve Marianne’s family. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com
