Marian T. Mcstay

Marian T. McStay, 88, of West Reading, passed away June 8, 2011 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William V. McStay in 2010

Born in Milwaukee, WI, she was a daughter of the late Edward C. and Florence (Riemer) Thren.

Marian was a graduate of Temple University, Philadelphia. From 1946-1952, she was employed as the Chief Dietitian at West Jersey Hospital, Camden, NJ. From 1967-1970, she worked as a nutrition consultant for several extended care facilities. From 1970 until her retirement in 1987, she was the Director of Nutrition Services at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

She is survived by her three daughters: Jeanne M. McStay, Baltimore, Maryland; Laurie M. Bailey, Pensacola, Florida and Carol E. McStay, Reading. There are several nieces and nephews also surviving.

Marian was predeceased by her much loved grandson, Dan Bailey, in 2005.

She was also predeceased by two brothers, Daniel Thren and Robert Thren.

Memorial services will be Saturday October 1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in the Hain's Church Cemetery. Should friends desire, contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 301 S. Fifth Street, Reading, Pa. 19602.
