Marian E. Kauffman

Marian E. (Swoyer) Kauffman, 87 of Shoemakersville died peacefully surrounded by her husband and family on October 6, 2017 in the Reading Hospital. She was the wife of Chester P. Kauffman and recently celebrated their 68thwedding anniversary. Marian was born in Shoemakersville and was the daughter of the late Wilmer and Ada (Emerich) Schwoyer. She was a 1948 graduate of Perry High School and graduated from the McCann School of Business. Marian worked nearly 50 years for the Shoemakersville Press as a secretary. She was a life member of St. Luke's Church, Shoemakersville and a member of the Shoemakersville Senior Citizens and the Shoemakersville Company Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to her husband, Marian is survived by her sons, Ricky husband of Lennia Kauffman, Windsor Township, Randy husband of Brenda Kauffman, LaPorte, Texas, grandchildren, Brandi wife of Shawn Gravish, Windsor Township, Angie Kauffman companion of Phoebe Freeman, Houston Texas, Jodi wife of Fred Kohler, League City, Texas and great grandchildren, BreAnna, Tyler, Haley, Hannah and Presley and a brother, Dennis husband of Diane Schwoyer, Hamburg. A brother, Richard Swoyer, predeceased Marian. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 13th at 11:00 a.m. from the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc., 40 S. 4th Street, Hamburg. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and again Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow in St. Luke's Cemetery, Shoemakersville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Luke's Memorial Fund, Fifth & Franklin Streets, Shoemakersville, PA 19555.
