Marian I. Adams

Marian I. (Rebholz) Adams, 92, formerly of Reading and Wyomissing, died July 29 in Columbia Cottage, Spring Township, where she had resided since November 2004. She was the widow of C. Arthur Adams, who died Jan. 3, 1981.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late John and Iva (Clay) Rebholz.

Marian was employed as a cafeteria worker at Reading High School for eight years, retiring in 1976. She and her husband owned Adams Drugstore, Reading, for many years.

She was a member of Nativity Lutheran Church.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Marian I. "Paddy" (Adams) and Leon A. Miller, Wyomissing, and a son and daughter-in-law, Robert D. and Dyanne L. (Kunsman) Adams, Colony Park.

She had seven grandchildren: Karen L. Miller, wife of Bruce R. Posten, Wyomissing; Kurt A. Miller, husband of Elizabeth (Taucher) Miller, Pittsburgh; Kristie Miller McMahon, wife of Patrick J. McMahon, Clarks Summit, Lackawanna County; Kyle L. Miller, husband of Laura E. (Fleming) Miller, New Canaan, Conn.; Kelly (Adams) Close, wife of Richard F. Close III, Wyomissing; Kimberly (Adams) Duffy, wife of Matthew C. Duffy, Lower Heidelberg Township; and Christopher R. Adams, fiance of Ellen R. Wolf, Downingtown, Chester County.

She had 16 great-grandchildren.

Marian was predeceased by her twin sister, Mildred (Rebholz) Schaeffer. Three brothers and three other sisters also preceded her in death.

The family appreciates the wonderful efforts of the staff at Columbia Cottage and Patient Care Hospice, Wyomissing.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Kuhn Funeral Home, West Reading. Visitations will be Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading.
