Maria Meyer

Maria "Mary" Meyer, 73, of Muhlenberg Township, went to be with the Lord on March 18, 2010 in the Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest Hospital.

Born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, she was a daughter of the late Alexendru and Anna (Garasciuc) Colotelo.

She was a graduate of St. Joseph's Nursing School, Hamilton, Ontario.

Maria worked as an R.N. at St. Joseph's Hospital, Reading.

She was a member of St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Reading.

Maria was a God's helper at Sacred Heart Villa, Muhlenberg Township.

She was an avid gardener and true nature lover. She adopted a rescue greyhound and loved all animals.

She is survived by her three daughters: Donna J., wife of John A. Bowlin, Leesport; Meredith J. Meyer, Muhlenberg Township and Kathlene A. Meyer, Muhlenberg Township. She is also survived by her sister, Helen Vacarchuck, Hamilton, Ontario. There are two grandchildren surviving: Danielle Bowlin and Brady Bowlin. Four nieces and nephews survive her: John David, Anne Marie, Bradley and Kimberly. Also surviving are her friends and sisters at the Sacred Heart Villa.

She was predeceased by her brother, William Colotelo and her sister, Veronica Colotel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Villa, 51 Seminary Ave., Laureldale PA 19605. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. Friends may call Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Villa.
