Maria L. Overley

Maria Luisa Overley, 84, of Wyomissing, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at 6:20 p.m. at Berks Heim.

She was the wife of Ralph R. "Dick" Overley, whom she married on May 4, 1958 in Barcelona, Spain. She became a proud United States citizen in 1962.

Born in Berja, Spain on August 23, 1932, she was the daughter of the Antonio and Delores (Prados) Soto.

Maria was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.

She was a seamstress at Belann Corp. and retired from Fairy Silk Mill, Shillington.

Maria enjoyed casinos, bingo, and home sewing. She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels for several years. Maria was very fond of young children; and cared deeply about everyone she knew.

The Overley family would like to thank the entire staff of Unit 3-A in Berks Heim for their love and excellent care given to Maria during her stay there.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brothers, Antonio Soto, The Netherlands, and Luis Soto, Laredo, Texas.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, August 29, 2016, at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, with entombment to follow at Gethsemane Mausoleum. A visitation will be held from 8:45 to 9:30 a.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading.
