Maria Ciabattoni

Maria (Florio) Ciabattoni, 82, of Wyomissing died February 11, 2013, in Reading Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Her husband, Andrew J. Ciabattoni, died April 15, 1991.

Born in Bari, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Mauro and Domenica (D'Urso) Florio.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.

Maria loved to cook and bake; she especially loved holidays and special occassions with her family. Maria always loved to be with her family most especially her great-grandchildren in recent years. Atlantic City and the Poconos were favorite destinations with family and very close friends.

She was woman of great faith.

Maria is survived by her children, John D., husband of Christine B. Ciabattoni, Sinking Spring; Mauro A., husband of Marilyn M. Ciabattoni, West Lawn; and Joanna Ciabattoni, Wyomissing. There are two siblings, Catherine(Florio) Cirulli, West Lawn and Michael Florio, Bari, Italy. Five grandchildren, Madalyn, Robert, Mauro, Jr., Cecilia and Michael A.; and four great-grandchildren, Sophia, Adrianna, Robert D. and Tucker also survive her.

She was predeceased by five siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Mausoleum.
