Maria Architas

Maria Architas, 78, formerly of Wyomissing, died January 5, 2009 in Wyomissing Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born March 1, 1930 in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Hercules and Elizabeth (Seremetis) Architas.

Maria graduated from Reading High School in 1947. She was employed by the Reading School District as a Benefits Coordinator for twenty years, retiring in 1997.

She was a member of SS Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, Reading; a life member of the Reading Community Players and a member of the Brandywine Museum.

Maria is survived by her daughter, Iris E Bellman, Wyomissing and brother, George Architas, Manhattan, NY. A grandson, Nicholas R. Bellman, also survives her.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in SS Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, Reading. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to service in the church.
