Marguerite Mae Schmehl

Marguerite Mae (Heffner) Schmehl, 82, died May 12, 2011 in her Hamburg Borough residence.

She was the wife of Kenneth B. Schmehl who died January 23, 2005. They were married for 53 years.

Born January 14, 1929 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late William K. and Maggie M. (Rentschler) Heffner.

Marguerite was a 1946 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.

She was employed as a packer with Bachman Company for 24 years, retiring in 1988.

Marguerite loved being a wife and mother and loved taking care of her grandchildren.

She enjoyed playing bingo.

Marguerite was a member of Central Fire Company Auxillary.

Surviving are two sons: Robert W., husband of Mary A. (Stamm) Schmehl of Hamburg and Michael K., husband of Tammy L. (Keim) Schmehl of Laureldale.

In addition, she is survived by a brother, William Heffner of Muhlenberg Township.

There are three grandchildren surviving, Jennifer E., wife of Tim Birch, Tyler W. Schmehl and Melanie M. Schmehl.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc. 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Twp.
