Margarita Figueroa

Margarita Figueroa, 76, of Reading, passed away on July 20, 2024, at Reading Hospital.

Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of the late Anastasio and Saturna (Cosme) Figueroa.

Margarita worked in the dry-cleaning business for many years while living in Florida. Later she worked for Baldwin Brass for over ten years.

She loved her family and helped to create a loving and fun environment for her four children. Margarita had an affinity for fun, dancing, music, cooking, movies, and laughter. She would brighten up a room with her presence, immediately making friends with her most amazing stories.

Margarita is survived by her four children: Carlos Serrano, Nelson Fernandez, Margarita Fernandez and Estrella Torres; 11 grandchildren: Jade Sky Fernandez, Brianna Mae Gonzalez, Jessica Serrano, Quest T. Fernandez, Izaiah M. Gonzalez, Jennifer Serrano, Mirage A. Fernandez, Ulysses A. Franqui, Amores A. Franqui, Joel D. Gonzalez, and Jillian Serrano, and five great-grandchildren: Penelope Lou Peña, Azurie L Paterson, Paisley M. Pierce, Zarah A. Morales, and Sofia R Cruz. Her longtime companion, Rigoberto Torres, also survives her.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her companion, Manuel Fernandez, who passed away on July 17, 1981.

A viewing will be held Thursday, July 25, 2024, from 5 to 5:30 p.m. with services to begin at 5:30 p.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Condolences may be expressed at www.kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
