Margaret K. Weist

Margaret K. (Erdman) Weist, 91, of Wernersville, died peacefully, May 29, 2015 at Phoebe Berks, surrounded by her loving family.

Her husband, Miles E. Weist, died on June 21, 1986.

Born in Lykens, PA, she was a daughter of the late Guy and Winnie Mae (Kehler) Erdman.

She was a graduate of Tremont High School in 1942.

Margaret was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was an active member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Tremont where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was also very active in the Women's Church Group, Auxiliary member of the Tremont Nursing Home and Leader of the Cub Scouts.

She is survived by two children: Brenda M., wife of Rev. Dr. Larry D. Carl, Wyomissing and Jeffrey M., husband of Andrea L. Weist, Muhlenberg Township; three siblings: Averal Barder, Newtown, Jean Bowers, Stoudsburg and Lorraine Maurer, Palmyra; five grandchildren: Kelly Rae, Jonathan Carl, Alison Seyfert, Jessica Di Ferdinando and Amy Weist; six great-grandchildren and her son-in-law, David Krammes, Quakertown and two step grandchildren, Beth Geddio and Mariah Bankemper.

Margaret was predeceased by her daughter, Patti Krammes, her brother, Kenneth Erdman and her sister Pauline Scheibley.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will be in the German Reformed Cemetery, Tremont.
