Margaret Ann Swartz

Margaret Ann (Lynch) Swartz, 83, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away January 31, 2015 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

She was the wife of Earl Leroy Swartz, whom she married 62 years ago on November 15, 1952.

Born October 29, 1931 in Hartford, CT, she was a daughter of the late Edmund and Alice (Murphy) Lynch.

Margaret was a 1949 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.

She worked for the Reading Muhlenberg Vo-Tech in the cafeteria, and was a clean room operator for Lucent Technologies, retiring after 20 years of service.

Margaret was an active member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park.

She was a member of the Senior Club of Laureldale. She enjoyed bingo and playing cards with her friends and family.

Margaret was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her three children: Stephen E., husband of Lyn Swartz, Temple; Timothy E., husband of Linda Swartz, Laureldale and Lori J. Shomper, Blandon.

Also surviving are her sisters: Noreen, wife of Robert Kulesza, Muhlenberg Township; Alice, wife of William Ketterer, Topton and Mary Lynch, Wyomissing and her brother, Edward, husband of Marie Lynch, Muhlenberg Township.

Seven grandchildren: Bradley Swartz, Jarrek Swartz, Christopher Swartz, Ryan Swartz, Justin Shomper, Jena Shomper, and Jordan Shomper; and two great-grandchildren: Ella Swartz, and Madelyn Swartz also survive her.

Margaret was predeceased by her sister, Jean Lynch.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in Holy Guardian Angels Church, 3121 Kutztown Rd., Reading, (Muhlenberg Township) PA 19605. Viewings will be held Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. both in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Rd., Laureldale.
