Margaret Mary (Keltz) Hartgen, 93, formerly of Spring Township, died October 4, 2008 in Phoebe Berks Health Center, Wernersville.

She was married July 4, 1938 to John Stephen Hartgen, who died February 22, 2004.

Born July 6, 1915 in Reading, PA., she was a daughter of the late John Thomas Keltz and Mary Patricia (Loughlin) Keltz.

She was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield, where she was a charter member.

Margaret was employed 19 years with Penn Optical, Reading, before retiring in 1981.

She is survived by three children: John W., husband of Joan E. (Pfeiffer) Hartgen of Williamsburg, VA; M. Patricia Soliday of Lebanon and Rev. Msgr. Dennis T. Hartgen, pastor of Holy Guardian Angels R.C.C., Hyde Park.

Other survivors include three grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by 13 siblings: Helen, Mae, Catherine, James, John, Joseph, Francis, Thomas, Edward, William, Robert, Bernard and Sr. Mary Ursula.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 am in Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, 3121 Kutztown Road, Hyde Park. A viewing will be held from 8:30 am until 10:00 am in the Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
