Margaret Elsie Conover

Margaret Elsie (Whalen) Conover, 96, died in her niece's Pike Township residence on September 16, 2013.

She was the widow of Walter W. Conover, Jr.

Born in Wilson Borough, Northampton County on January 3, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Francis A. and Catherine (Connor) Whalen.

She was employed for 25 years in the cafeteria with the Wilson School District, retiring in 1982.

Margaret is survived by a daughter, Patricia (Conover), wife of Kenneth G. Zimmerman of Helena, Montana.

Other survivors include a niece whom she raised since infancy, Margaret A. "Peggy" (Hunt), wife of Eric H. Gernerd of Pike Township.

There are also three grandchildren: Eric Zimmerman of Helena, Montana, Ethan C. and Graham H. Gernerd, both of Pike Township.

Several nieces and nephews also survive her.

She was predeceased by five sisters and three brothers.

Services will be held Saturday at 11:00 am in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 423 Main St., Oley. A viewing will be held Saturday from 10:00 am until time of services in the funeral home. Burial will be private in Easton Cemetery.
