Margaret E. Borell

Margaret E. (Gehrke) Borell, 89, of Oak forest Apartments, Hampten Blvd., Reading, died May 22nd at 10:35 pm in the Reading Hospital where she had been since earlier that day.

Formerly of Memorial Highway, Fleetwood and the Berkshire Commons, Exeter Township, she was the wife of William A. Borell, at home.

Born in Reading she was a daughter of the late Herbert W.S. and Emily (Zehm) Gehrke.

Borell was a Elementary School teacher for a number of years in the Danville School District until her retirement.

She was a 1934 graduate of Reading High School and a 1937 graduate of Stratford College, Danville, Virginia.

Borell was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Reading where she also served as a sunday school teacher.

She was a life member of the Letra Story League, Reading Branch.

Borell is also survived by two daughters, Diane L. (Borell) wife of David Cerates of Tower City, Schuylkill County and Linda L. (Borell) wife of Lee Gougler of Hamburg, Berks County.

Other survivors include three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be Wednesday at 10:00 am in Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 33 South 11th Street, Reading, 19602. Burial will be private in Laureldale Cemetery, Tuckerton. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the church at the above address. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
