Margaret "Marge" H. Boran of Hamburg died Friday, December 22, 2017 in Maidencreek Place, Maidencreek Township. She was the widow of Pierce E. Boran who died June 25, 1987. Marge was born in Coaldale, (Schuylkill County) and was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Chech) Balazovich. Marge was a 1941 graduate of Coaldale High School and a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Tilden Township. She worked as a nurse's aide at the Hamburg Center for 20 years retiring in 1985. Marge was a member of the Berks County Hummel Club; St. Mary's Altar and Rosary Society and assisted with dinners and various functions at the former St. Mary's Hall in Hamburg. Marge is survived by one son; John "Jack" R. widower of Beverly A. Boran, Hamburg, daughter; Kathy Boran wife of William J. Winter, Seattle, WA, two granddaughters, Jennifer M. wife of Andrew Hottenstein and Anne M. Boran and one great-granddaughter, Madison A. Hottenstein. Three nieces also survive Marge, Patricia Scutta, Anne Tarsavage, and Peggy Hain. Marge was predeceased by brothers; Stephen, Michael, Joseph and William Balazovich and sisters; Mary Balazovich and Rose Arrone. A Mass of Christian will be held on Wednesday, December 27 th in St. Mary Roman Catholic Church 94 Walnut Road, Hamburg, PA. at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Hamburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the church at PO Box 189, Hamburg, PA. The Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
