Margaret A. Anurukem

Nneoma (Great Mother) Mrs. Margaret A. Anurukem, 93, passed away in her Shillington residence on April 28, 2020.

Born in Umunahu Uratta, Owerri Imo-State, Nigeria she was the daughter of the late Linus and Helena Ogbonna.

Margaret was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle R.C. Church, Shillington.

The matriarch of the family, she was the only daughter of four children, she stayed home to help raise her brothers due to the premature death of her mother.

She is survived by her children: Mrs. Theresa Garuba, Maplewood, NJ; Sister Virginia Anurukem, Republic of Benin, Africa; Mrs. Pauline Alua, Jersey City, NJ; and Mrs. Regina, wife of Dr. Edmund Oparanozie, with whom she resided in Pennsylvania. She was blessed to have 19 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

A public drive by viewing will be held Saturday, May 16, 2020, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. West Reading. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. at St. John's RCC, Shillington. Immediate family will enter the Church for the Mass (less than 10 people) while other family and friends are invited to watch the Mass while it is webcast in their cars.
