Marcel A. Cafurello II, 50, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly in his Womelsdorf residence on Thursday, June 25, 2026. Born in Reading to the late Marcel A. Cafurello and Rosemarie (Conlon) Cafurello Andrus, widow of Robert Andrus, he graduated from Wilson High School in 1992. He later attended college at University of California Santa Barbara and Reading Area Community College. He worked as an arborist, raising Christmas trees, for many years; however, he considered homeschooling his beloved children his true calling as a father.
No one who met Marcel forgot his infectious passion for nonwork- activities, including skiing, playing guitar, and cooking. He especially loved his family, music (particularly Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews, and Audioslave), passing on to his boys knowledge of cars, fishing, skating, surfing, shooting, and playing guitar. He also coached soccer and volunteered at the Womelsdorf Fire Company. He was a member of Bridge of Hope Church of Womelsdorf.
He leaves behind his three boys, Marcel III, Maximus, and Makya Cafurello; his fiance and partner of 22 years, Audra Gingrich; his mother, Rose; his aunts and uncles: John and Annette Conlon; Thomas and Brenda Conlon; Patricia Conlon; and Donald and Pam Conlon; as well as his many cousins. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Bernice Conlon.
In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his grandparents, Anthony and Peggy Cafurello and John "Jack" Conlon.
He will be truly missed by his family, friends, and community. Until we meet again in Heaven!
