Marc M. Mckently

Marc M. McKently, 17 of Ruscombmanor Township, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Born in Pricetown, he was a son of Kirk G. and Betty J. (Valore) McKently with whom he resided.

He was a Senior in Oley Valley High School and a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Oley.

He was employed by the Victor Emmanuel II Beneficial Society, Reading and was also a snowboard instructor at Bear Creek Resort.

Marc liked Hispanic culture and had traveled to Spain. He enjoyed attending Dance Expressions in Kenhorst and had assisted with some of the classes. A starter on the High School soccer team, he received an honorable mention in the Berks Soccer League, Division III.

In addition to his parents, Marc is survived by a Brother: Michael M. McKently and a Sister: Meeka M. McKently both at home. Also his Paternal Grandparents: Gene R. and June W. (Wolford) McKently of Wyomissing.

Services for Marc will be held at 8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 in Friedens United Church of Christ, 337 Main Street, Oley. Friends and family are invited to a viewing at the church from 5:00-8:00 pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Oley Valley High School, 17 Jefferson Street, Oley, Pa. 19547. Contributions will be used to establish a scholarship fund in Marc's memory.
