Manuel DeJesus, 91, of Reading, died June 6 at 9:15 a.m. in Reading Hospital, where he had been a patient for two days.
He was the husband of Maria I. (Pita) DeJesus. His first wife, Filomena (Rodrigues) DeJesus, died Dec. 23, 1973.
Born in Taunton, Mass., he was a son of the late Antonio and Augusta (Ponte) DeJesus.
DeJesus worked as a grinder 24 years at American Chain & Cable Co., Reading. He then worked in the same capacity for 13 years at Rockwell International, Wyomissing, retiring in 1977.
He was a member of St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, Reading.
DeJesus is also survived by two sons, M. Joseph and Antonio, both of Bern Township; and three daughters: Maria (DeJesus) Garrett, Whitfield; Carmina (DeJesus) Azzolina, Wilshire; and Filomena (DeJesus) Kilar, Bernville.
There are also eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Rosa (DeJesus) Bechtel, on Aug. 3, 2002.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Margaret's Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
