Mae L. Salamone

Mae L. (Lujan) Salamone, 69, died May 9, 2011, in her Reading residence.

She was the wife of Franklin J. Salamone. They were married on April 23, 1963.

Born in Dededo, Guam, she was the daughter of the late Joaquin and Maria (Rosario) Lujan.

She was employed for 20 years as a stock clerk for Vanity Fair, retiring in 2004.

Mae was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church.

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, U.S. Army Specialist Franklin J. Salamone II, Ft. Bliss, TX; three daughters, Elizabeth A., wife of Austin Bales, Sr., Henderson, NV, Maria E., wife of Kevin Kieffer, Denver and Clarissa T., wife of Tom Enslin, Muhlenberg Township.

She is also survived by two brothers, Franklin Lujan and Joseph Lujan, both of CA; two sisters, Annie Paulino and Beatrice Salas, both of Guam; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Mae was predeceased by her son, John Joseph Salamone and three sisters, Stella, Amanda and Dolores.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's R.C. Church, 1018 N. 8th St., Reading, PA 19604. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
