Mae E. Heffner

Mae E. (Kauffman) Heffner, 87, Wyomissing, died Dec. 1, 2006, at 6:55 a.m. in ManorCare, Laureldale, where she had resided since Feb. 22, 2005. She was the wife of the late Warren E. Heffner, who died Nov. 16, 2004.

Born in New Haven, Conn., she was a daughter of the late John Kauffman and Dorothea Wittge.

She worked as a medical technologist at Community General Hospital and Berks Heim. Heffner also worked at Reading Hospital in the clinical laboratory from 1967 to 1981.

She attended Albright College.

During World War II, she was employed by American Chain & Cable and NGK Metals.

She is survived by a daughter, Carol J., wife of Douglas Klotz, Williamsport.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Wyomissing Cemetery, Gouglersville.
