Mabel Jeanne (Kanneg) Snyder, 97, of Wyomissing, died September 21, 2010 in Reading Hospital.
Born November 2, 1912 in New York City, NY, she was a daughter of the late William and Henrietta (Hyatt) Kanneg.
She was the wife of Arlan Luther Snyder whom she married February 27, 1988. Her first husband, Guy Lanninghan Davis, died June 12, 1982.
Mabel was a 1928 graduate of William Penn High School, Harrisburg.
She is a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale.
Mabel was employed as a professional dancer in show business from 1921-1928 winning many competitions and awards. She started dancing again at age 72, with her husband Arlan and together, they won numerous national competitions and awards.
Mabel was a life Member of Order of the Eastern Star #360, York, PA since 1946.
She was also a volunteer, for a number of years, with York County Visiting Nurses Association and Lebanon VA Hospital.
Surviving is a son, Guy Mahlon Davis of Cherry Hill, NJ and a daughter, Rita Ann (Davis) Richards of Las Vegas, NV.
Other survivors include one great granddaughter, Amanda R. Davis of Philadelphia; four step grandchildren and six step-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a step-son, Donald Richard Snyder who died July, 2006, three brothers and two sisters.
Services will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. in Calvary Lutheran Church, 1009 Elizabeth Avenue, Laureldale. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services in the church. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, September 29th at 10 a.m. in the Auditroium at The Highlands at Wyomissing, 2000 Cambridge Avenue, Wyomissing.
