Mabel Gaston

Mabel Gaston, 79, of Eighth Avenue, Temple, died June 4 at 5:55 p.m. in Reading Hospital, where she had been a patient since May 20.

Her husband, Lawrence D. Gaston, died Dec. 27, 1985.

Born in Buckhorn, Ky., she was a daughter of the late John and Hulda (Combs) Wooton.

Gaston was employed for 15 years in the drapery department of Pomeroy's Department Store, later the Bon-Ton, Wyomissing, retiring in 1990.

She was a member of Faith Evangelical Congregational Church, Temple.

Surviving are two sons, Lawrence D. Jr., Germantown, Md., and Randy D., Exeter Township.

Other survivors include a sister, Pearle (Wooton) Bailey, Hammonton, N.J.; and four brothers: Edgar Wooton, in North Carolina; Donald and Clifton E. Wooton, both of Hammonton; and D.Y., Philadelphia.

There are also three grandchildren and a great-grandson.

Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home Inc., Laureldale. Viewing 9:30 am until time of service. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Tuckerton.
