M. Almeda Machemer

M. Almeda (Laughman) Machemer, 89, of Hamburg died December 4, 2012 in the Reading Hospital & Medical Center. She was the widow of Kenneth D. Machemer who died June 23rd, 2006. Almeda was born in Warrington Township, PA and was the daughter of the late Ervin E. and C. Doris (Wentz) Laughman. She was a 1941 graduate of Dover High School and graduated from Temple University School of Dental Hygiene. She worked as a Dental Hygienist in Hamburg for 42 years. She first worked for Dr. Arthur Moll and then Dr. Robert Moll. Almeda last worked for Dr. Raymond Haslam retiring in 1986. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Hamburg. Almeda was predeceased by 3 brothers, Lee, Kenneth and Eugene Laughman and 1 sister, Floretena Laird. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, 99 Church Street, Hamburg, PA. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg. A viewing will be held in the church on Friday from 9:30 AM until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Memorial Fund, 99 Church Street, Hamburg, PA. 19526.
