M. Virginia Ebbert

M. Virginia (Rahn) Ebbert, 83, died August 23, 2012, at The Highlands at Wyomissing, where she had been a resident since 2005.

Her husband, Daniel G. Ebbert, died April 27, 2011.

Born in Harrisburg, she was a daughter of the late Raymond P. and Nina M. (Jacques) Rahn.

She was a member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church where she sang in the church choir.

She was a past President of the Berks County Federation of Women's Clubs and of the Garden Club of Reading. She also had been an accredited Judge in the National Garden Club and The Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania. She was a sought after speaker on floral design for many years.

Virginia is survived by her children, Timothy A. Ebbert, Wyomissing and Susan (Ebbert) Wambaugh, Shillington; two sisters, Ruth L. (Rahn) Bair and Laura Jeanne (Rahn) Miller, both of Harrisburg and two grandchildren, Benjamin M. Wambaugh, Myrtle Beach, SC and Abigail Virginia (Wambaugh), wife of Jon Mork-Jensen, Copenhagen, Denmark.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard J. Rahn, and sisters Sarah Mae (Rahn) Smith and Sondra L. (Rahn) Hauck.

Memorial Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 4th and Windsor Streets, Reading, PA 19601, with Rev. Carolyn Hetrick presiding. Inurnment will be private in Atonement Lutheran Church Columbarium. Friends may call Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church.
