M. Catharine Balthaser

M. Catharine Balthaser, 98 of Perry Twp., died June 6th in Berks Heim where she was a resident. She was the widow of Paul R. Balthaser who pre deceased her in 2003. Born in Center Twp., she was the daughter of the late Elias Stein and Jennie (Laucks) Stein. She was a Homemaker and also worked at various garment factories in the Hamburg area for many years. Catharine was a member of the Virginville Grange and of St. Michaels Church of Hamburg. She was pre deceased in death by two brothers, John and C. Ammon Stein. Surviving are two daughters, Anna K. Bachman, Reading, PA, Alice L. wife of Roger, Bollinger, Mertztown, PA. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am in the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc. 40 South 4th St. Hamburg. Relatives and friends will be received on Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Michaels Cemetery, Tilden Twp.
