Lynn R. "Cricket" Manderbach, aged 73, of East Cocalico Township, passed away at his residence on July 30, 2023. Born in Reading, PA, on August 13, 1949, he was the cherished son of the late George M. and Dorothy L. (Moyer) Manderbach.
Cricket was the loving husband to Jeannie (Trump) Manderbach.
Cricket was a 1967 graduate of West Reading High School, where he played JV and varsity baseball and basketball. His love for his community and country was evident when he joined the US Air Force as a jet engine mechanic during the Vietnam War; serving from 1968 - 1972.
His career spanned many positions in the family business, Manderbach Ford, retiring in 2016.
He was a faithful member of St. James Church in West Reading, attending Sunday School until his death.
In addition to his wife, Cricket is survived by two siblings, Gary Manderbach, of FL, and Sherra, wife of Michael Howard, of Liberty Center, OH; two children, Steven, husband of Michele Manderbach of Aurora, OH, and Vicki, wife of Edward Mlynar, of Wernersville, PA; and five grandchildren: Sydney, Christian, Max, Lucas, and Joseph, as well as a niece, several nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
His life was enriched by many beloved pets, especially Toes and Lucy. Cricket had a passion for spending time with his family, going to the beach, listening to Motown, watching TV, most recently old westerns, and fostering pets. His warmth and laughter will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Cricket's enduring spirit, sense of humor, selfless acts of kindness, and deep devotion to his family will live on in the hearts and memories of those he touched. His legacy will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at 12 p.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Friends may call Sunday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private. As a testament to Cricket's love for relaxation and his easy-going spirit, the family is requesting all in attendance to dress as comfortable as they would if heading to the beach or a vacation destination.
