Lydia Laura (Stufflet) Angstadt, 101, formerly of Blandon, died August 7, 2009 in ManorCare Health Services, Muhlenberg Township, where she had been a resident for the past 3 1/2 years.
She was the widow of Calvin L. Angstadt who died January 29, 1986.
Born in Richmond Township, she was a daughter of the late Edwin K. and Amelia (Kemmerer) Stufflet.
Lydia was employed as a tax collector for Maidencreek Township for 16 1/2 years.
She was a member of the Democratic Woman's Committee of Maidencreek Township for 34 years, Temple Democratic Club, Walnuttown Ladies Auxiliary and Ruscombmanor Township Fire Company.
Surviving is a daughter Blanche A. (Millard), wife of Charles Gallo, Sr. of Ransomville, NY and a son, Stewart E., husband of Dorice Millard of Davies, Florida.
There are also 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 31 great-great grandchildren.
Lydia was predeceased by two brothers, Robert E. Stufflet and George H. Stufflet and two sisters, Eva (Stufflet) Endy and Dorothy (Stufflet) Seidel.
Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held Monday evening from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10-10:30. Burial will be in Maidencreek Union Cemetery, Maidencreek Township.
