Luz Nilda Medina

Luz Medina, 78, of West Reading, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Reading Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Arroyo, Puerto Rico, Luz was the daughter of Eladio Medina and Providencia Lebron. Luz met the love of her life at the age of 16, Erasmo Lorenzi Rivera. After two years together, they married and went on to share 52 loving years of marriage until his passing in 2018. Together, they built a family rooted in love, devotion, and enduring commitment.

Primarily a homemaker, Luz took great pride in caring for her family, finding her greatest joy in loving and nurturing those closest to her. She expressed her love through her cooking, a gift that brought people together, and made everyone feel at home. Luz also found joy in sewing and gardening, tending to her plants with the same patience and love she gave to those around her. She had a special talent for decorating her home, filling it with warmth, beauty, and comfort. Luz loved dancing and singing, sharing her joy and spirit with those around her as well. With her calm and comforting presence, she brought peace to everyone she met. Above all, Luz adored her grandchildren, cherishing every moment and holding them close to her heart.

Luz is survived by her four children: Luz Cecilia Lorenzi and her husband, Eusebio Lorenzo, of Boston, MA; Pedro Lorenzi and his partner, Saul Negron, of Reading, PA; Margie Lorenzi and her husband, Elias Vazquez, of Boston, MA; and Luis "Danny" Lorenzi and his wife, Molly Cotton, of Womelsdorf, PA. She was a proud grandmother to many grandchildren: Bianca, Emanuel, Karina, Jaslene, Alexander, Alexes, Genesis, Jayleen, Samantha, Francheska, Luis Jr., Nathen, Adrianna, Taina, Elijah, and Madeline; and a great-grandmother to Justin, Adonis, Mavreick, Claire, Carson, Rhea, and Solane, all of whom brought her immense joy. She is also survived by her siblings: Dolores, Gilberto, Miguel Angel, Jose Manuel, Rafael, Luz Maria, Martha, Maria Victoria, and Norma Iris. She was predeseased by Jose Manuel, Hector Luis, Heriberto, and Maria Mercedes.
