Luke L Eberly

Luke L Eberly, 84, passed away on Friday, September 23rd, 2022 at Reading Hospital and Medical Center in Reading. He leaves behind his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Arlene (Gring) Eberly, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage.

Born in Ephrata, he was the son of the late Rev. Alvin Eberly and Beulah (Long) Eberly. After graduating from Wilson High School, Luke began a long career as a commercial truck driver. He retired in 2000 with a spotless driving record. Luke enjoyed horseback riding and hunting with family and friends. He loved talking to people on his daily walks, and was universally well-liked. He spent many happy hours working in his yard, which is the envy of the neighborhood. Mostly, Luke enjoyed being by his wife's side and spending time with his family.

Luke will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Arlene; his sons, Kevin Eberly (Dianne) and Nevin Eberly (Kelly); daughter, Kim Milliken (Michael); brothers: Carl (Fay), Leon (Ruth) and Paul (Leona) Eberly; sisters, Elva Christen (Carl) and Fern Sensenig (Paul); grandchildren: Chad, Jared, Katherine, Susan, Kerry, and Megan; and great-grandchildren, Savannah and Makenzie.

Luke was preceded in death by a brother, Ivan Eberly.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 29th, 2022 at 11:30 am in Pleasant View Cemetery, 650 Fritztown Road Sinking Spring, PA 19608. Family and friends are invited to gather at 11:00 a.m. at the cemetery.
