Ludwig Schmidbauer

Ludwig "Lou" Schmidbauer, 80, of Spring Township passed away October 24, 2015.

He was the companion of Joan Scribner. Lou is predeceased by his wife, Jeanette Schmidbauer.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Ludwig and Emily (Vetter) Schmidbauer.

Lou was a graduate of Reading High School and Penn State University, where he received a degree in Electrical Engineering.

He was employed by Met Ed – GPU, where he retired as an electrical engineer.

Lou was a parishioner of Good Shepherd United Church of Christ.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Lou enjoyed playing bridge and going to Stone Harbor with his family.

Lou is survived by his children, Diana, wife of Dale Stone, Sinking Spring; Debra, wife of Joseph Raibick, Muhlenberg; and Sandra, wife of Dennis Barber, Malvern; sister, Rita Carl, Reading. He was grandpa to Joshua, Eric, Robert, Lindsay, Rachel and Kathryn.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday October 28, 2015 at 2 p.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will be at Berks County Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Good Shepard U.C.C., 170 Tuckerton Rd, Reading, PA 19605. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
