Lucy (Scornavacchi) Napoli passed away peacefully at Berks Heim on Wednesday, April 11, 2012.

Born in Reading on February 12, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Mariano and Paulina Scornavacchi.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Joseph Napoli.

She is survived by her son, Santo, his wife, Judy (Eshenaur), her granddaughter, Shelly Kinsey, her husband Clyde Kinsey; three great-grandchildren: Catherine, Michael and Mary; a sister, Sara Sedlack and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a very special friend, Mae Spies.

Lucy was predeceased by her brothers: Joseph and his wife Edith; Peter and his wife Angelina, sister Josephine and her husband Jack and brother-in-law Eugene Sedlack.

Lucy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will always be remembered for her wonderful cooking and her level-headed advice. Most problems could be talked through with her at her dining room table, over a piece of chocolate chip cake or a bowl of chicken soup.

She and her husband, Joe, owned Joe's Grocery on Pear Street. She cooked the evening meal for the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary at St. Margaret's convent for many years. She and Joe were longtime members of St. Margaret's Parish.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Ignatius Loyola R.C. Church, Whitfield. A visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. in the church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
