Lucy Lingjun Huan Mikula, 54, of Exeter Township, passed away September 27, 2012 in the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia after a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

She was the wife of Ronald M. Mikula.

Born in Beijing, China she was a daughter of the late Xiangqian Huan and Yanhui Ji.

Lucy was a 1982 graduate of Northwest Polytechnic University, earning a BS in Computer Science. After immigrating to the U.S. in 1998, she attended Rowan University and then in 2002 graduated from the Accountant Certification Program at Reading Area Community College.

She worked in China for the Foreign Experts Bureau, State Council as a liaison officer; as an HR analyst for Shenzhen Color TV Corp and a securities broker for Shenzhen Shida Brokerage Company. In the U.S. she worked for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as an insurance examiner.

Lucy served in the Chinese Army as a computer engineer for 13 years.

She was a member of Calvary Bible Fellowship Church, (Chinese Church of Reading) Sinking Spring.

Lucy loved tending her vegetable garden and will be missed by her beloved Bichon, Zhi Zhi.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her siblings: Lingyang Huan, husband of Lingxi Zhu; Lingyun Huan, husband of Zhen Chen; Leonard Huan, husband of Minnie Ma and Lingchun Huan, husband of Siping Fu. Also surviving are her nephews: Xi Huan, Tan Huan, Isaac Huan, Qui Huan and Jonathan Mikula; her nieces, Isabella Ma and Stephanie Mikula and her brother-in-law, Richard, husband of Gayle Mikula.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Viewings will be Tuesday 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
