Flavia Lucia "Lucy" (Ferrara) Ciatto, 98, passed away in her sleep on May 17, 2024, at The Highlands at Wyomissing.
Her husband, Joseph Ciatto, passed away on August 21, 2020. They were married on January 22, 1949. She was predeceased by her son Joseph P. "Joey" Ciatto.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Frank G. and Rosaria (Cucinotta) Ferrara.
She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, where she was one of the first cheerleaders. Lucy was the owner of Mademoiselle, a woman's boutique in Reading for several years, before she started her family.
A 44 year member of the Berkshire Country Club, she loved to play golf, highlighted by a hole-in-one. She loved her home, gardening, shopping, entertaining, and spending her winters in her second home in Naples, FL. She was a good cook and baker.
Lucy was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.
She is survived by two children, Gregory married to Catherine Bestwick Ciatto and Maria married to Leif Todd Johnson; grandchildren: Adrienne, Brian, Francesca, David, Samantha, and Olivia; and great-grandchildren, Jillian and Jordan. Her sister, Rose Marie Feicht, Wyomissing also survives her. She was predeceased by her brother, Harry Ferrara.
The family would like to thank The Highlands at Wyomissing and all of her caregivers for assisting our beloved Lucy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church with burial to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Church or The Wyomissing Public Library.
