Lucy M. Born

Lucy M. Born, 82, formerly of Wyomissing Hills, died February 19, 2011, in her Spring Township residence.

She was the wife of James P. Born Sr to whom she was married for 59 years. Their devotion to each other was known to all who knew them.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late George H. and Lucy M. (O'Rourke) Wolff.

She was a 1946 graduate of Central Catholic High School.

Lucy was formerly employed by St. Joseph Hospital in their accounting department.

She was a member of St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.

Lucy was a past president of the Women's Club of Wyomissing Hills. She was a volunteer for 20 years for the Reading and Berks County Meals on Wheels program.

In addition to her husband, Lucy is survived by her son, James P. Born, Jr., Laureldale; her sister, Miriam T. Sonsini, Wyomissing; three nieces; several cousins and all Lucy's extended family.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Mary Louise Born in 1966.

Lucy will be missed by all who knew her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in St Ignatius Church, 2810 St. Albans Dr., Sinking Spring, PA 19608. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
