Lucille Strause

Lucille (Sheehan) Strause, 79, of Exeter Township, died May 31, 2009 at 9:10 pm in St. Joseph Medical Center.

She was the wife of Dr. Harold L. Strause, Jr., whom she married May 21, 1949.

Born December 26, 1929 in her Adamstown residence, she was a daughter of the late Eugene O. and Naomi M. (Haines) Sheehan.

She was a 1947 graduate of Wilson High School.

Lucille was a member of Reformation Evangelical Lutheran Church, Exeter Township.

She was employed 12 years as a secretary in her husbands medical office, Reading.

Lucille volunteered 18 years with Meals-On-Wheels, Reading.

She is also survived by three children: Sue A., wife of Lawrence J. Karas of Houston, Texas; James A., husband of Pok Y. (Heo) Strause of Dublin, Ohio and Jane E., wife of John J. Buckley Jr., of Mohnton.

Other survivors include a brother, Eugene O., widower of Jean Sheehan and six grandchildren: Sarah E. Strause, John J. Buckley III, Stephanie A. Karas, Patrick J. Buckley, Meghan E. Buckley and Lauren E. Karas.

She was predeceased by a sister, Marie J. Sheehan.

Services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 am in Reformation Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3670 Perkiomen Avenue, Exeter Township, with the Rev. Steven C. Claycomb officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services in the church. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, Bernville.
