Lucille Edith Roderick, 90, of Wyomissing, died June 15, 2007 at the Reading Hospital.

Born in Enfield, Maine she was the daughter of the late Clara (Pelkey) and Percey T. Carrigan.

She was the wife of the late Ernest J. Roderick.

Lucille was a beloved artist, china painter and teacher, clothing designer, entrepreneur, horticultural designer and volunteer at St. James Roman Catholic Church in Falls Church, Virginia.

Some of her many life time achievements included graduating from Waterville High School, in Waterville Maine; Thomas Business College, Maine; Ben Franklin University, Washington D.C; Magna School of Design, Everly, Maine, and Livingston Design Academy, Washington D.C.

As an certified artist and teacher in International Porcelain , her love for china painting was passed on by teaching students for more than 45 years.

Lucille as an entrepreneur was the founder and owner of Lucille's Art Studio and House of China in Falls Church, Va.

As a horticultural designer, she was one of the winners of the National Rose Society for rose gardens in Falls Church, Virginia

Lucille also assisted as a floral designer for Garden of Angels Florist, Reading Pennsylvania

Her vibrancy for life will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Lucille is survived by a son, David E. Roderick and his wife Nola Roderick, Eugene Oregon, and a daughter Frances Heather A. Lutz and her husband Kurt M. Lutz, West Reading, Pennsylvania.

She is also survived by a sister Marie Bennett, Kennebunk Maine.

Other survivors include five grandchildren Angel Gault, Joseph Anthony, Jeremy Anthony, Robyn Roderick, and John Roderick, and six great grandchildren .

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday July 20 at 11:00 am. in St Margaret's RC Church 925 Centre Ave. Reading. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.
