Lucille M. Ertel

Lucille M. Ertel, 94, formerly of Shillington, passed away March 23rd, 2022 at Berks Heim. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald A. Ertel.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Anthony M. and Loretta J. (Gieringer) Krug. She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in 1946. Lucille was employed by American Casualty and Boscov's.

Lucille was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington. She enjoyed playing canasta, puzzles, gift wrapping, and double solitaire.

She is survived by two daughters, Janet L. (Landon) Gillis of Tampa, FL and Cynthia A. (John) Geiger of Reading, PA; four grandchildren: Laurie, Jonathan, Alex, and Nicole; and three great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a brother, Richard C. Krug and a sister, Nancy J. Mertz.

Prayer services will be Monday, April 4, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading with burial to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Diabetes Foundation in Lucille's honor.
