Lucille Brady

Lucille M. Brady, 91, of Bern Township, PA, began dancing with her dear husband again when she passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025, with her devoted family by her side.

Born in Pottsville, PA, Lucille was the daughter of the late Agnes and John Yonchuk. Lucille married the love of her life, Joe Brady, in 1953. Together they raised a wonderful family and shared 63 years of marriage before his passing in 2016.

Lucille graduated from Pottsville Catholic High School in 1951, where she was salutatorian of her class. In high school, she played basketball and served as secretary of the senior class.

In addition to raising a family, Lucille was an insurance agent for over 30 years. She served as the President of the Insurance Women of PA. Prior to her career in insurance, she and her husband were owners of Glenside Beverage.

In her spare time, Lucille enjoyed reading, watching CNN and MSNBC, and jitterbugging with her favorite dance partner, Joe. As someone who was always interested in politics, for over 25 years, Lucille was on the Bern Township Board of Supervisors, and for most of her tenure she served as the Chairperson.

Family and friends lovingly described Lucille as knowledgeable, resilient, compassionate, wise, and cheerful. She was a devout Catholic and loving woman of deep faith.

Lucille is survived by her children, Joseph T. Brady, Jr., husband of Lucyann, and Jane Terry Brady; her beloved grandchildren: Amber, wife of Kyle Emerich; Alyssa, wife of Greg Lusty; and Audra, wife of Chris Dougherty; and nine great-grand-children. In addition, she leaves behind many adoring nieces and nephews; family friend, Linda Korpi; as well as many other dear friends.

Lucille was predeceased by her husband, Joe; daughter, Maryann; and brother, John Yonchuk, Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Gethsemane Mausoleum's Chapel of Resurrection, 3139 Kutztown Rd, Reading PA 19605. Visitation and celebration of life with family will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading PA 19611.
