Lovina May "Lovie" (Shenk) Weldy, of Wyomissing, passed away peacefully on her 78th birthday, Wednesday, April 18 in ManorCare Health Services-Sinking Spring, where she had resided since October. Born April 18, 1940 in West Reading, Lovie was a daughter of the late Harold and Grace (Palm) Shenk. She was the loving wife of Larry W. Weldy, Sr., who passed in 2008.
Lovie led a full and active life, enjoying bingo, bowling and trips to the casino. But she truly loved her country line dancing group and the many trips they took to perform.
Lovie worked for nearly 20 years as a laborer at the former Construction Fasteners, Inc., Wyomissing, last working in 1988.
Lovie is survived by her sister Patricia Hiltebeitel, with whom she resided, and many nieces and nephews who will miss her greatly. She was predeceased by her son Larry W. Weldy, Jr., who passed in 1976.
A graveside service for Lovie will be celebrated Thursday, April 26 at 10:00am at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter.
